from goodreads:
Loving Adam Stone was never going to be simple.
He’s older.
Powerful.
Completely set in his ways.
For a year, he’s owned me—heart, body, and soul. Our love is raw, intense, and filled with the kind of passion that steals my breath and never gives it back.
But lately, something’s changed.
He’s keeping things from me.
Shutting me out.
Instead of letting me in, he drowns himself in work, breaking promises along the way. I should be his partner in every way, but he still sees me as something fragile. Something to protect instead of trust.
Then the cracks spread. Our relationship seems to be the price he is willing to pay for success. And suddenly, I’m left questioning everything.
One last broken promise shatters me, and I’m forced to end things.
Walking away from him is devastating.
But staying would mean betraying myself.
He owned me.
Claimed me.
And now, he’s lost me.
If he wants me back, he’ll have to prove it. Not with words. Not with gifts.
With his knees on the ground and his heart in his hands.

this book was a 3.5 rounded up to 4. i really liked the storyline and how everything played out, the spice was spicy but not enough to where the book was a sexcapade every page, it was well balanced. i give it a 3.5 because the DD/lg (daddy dom, little girl) dynamic was just not it for me. it made me cringe every time. i guess i could have guessed it from the age gap but it took away from this book for me. dont get me wrong though, i really liked it and it was interesting and easy to read but every time they went into dynamic mode i cringed a little.
i thought i was going to hate adam but he actually turned out to be a well rounded MMC. he wanted to be the strong man that handled everything and didnt need or want anyone butting into his personal business. but he also showed the loving side of himself, especially to willow, and knew he needed to work on things to make things workout for him and willow. i like that elle showed the relationship between him and his daughter but then that made me cringe a little too since he actually had a daughter who was best friends with willow, that was even more of an ick.
i liked willow a lot though, she had a good head on her shoulders for being someone so "young" she knew what she wanted and knew what she was not going to put up with. she was aware of her boundaries and what she would tolerate in a relationship and a dynamic. she had a lot of support from those around her and they helped her keep her head on her shoulders.
this is my second book from elle sparrow, while i'm not a BDSM lover this book was well written and interesting to read. so far i have not been disappointed reading her books and have learned a bit about dynamics and such.
