from goodreads:
It's hard to find an employer who doesn't ask too many questions about my past. So I thank my lucky stars that the Garricks miraculously give me a job, cleaning their stunning penthouse with views across the city and preparing fancy meals in their shiny kitchen. I can work here for a while, stay quiet until I get what I want.
It's almost perfect. But I still haven't met Mrs Garrick, or seen inside the guest bedroom. I'm sure I hear her crying. I notice spots of blood around the neck of her white nightgowns when I'm doing laundry. And one day I can't help but knock on the door. When it gently swings open, what I see inside changes everything....
That's when I make a promise. After all, I've done this before. I can protect Mrs. Garrick while keeping my own secrets locked up safe.
Douglas Garrick has done wrong. He is going to pay. It's simply a question of how far I'm willing to go....

my review:
okay this book was WILD. i really did not know what was coming. i knew the whole story of millie and why she does what she does but wow was i not expecting that!!!!!

as we all know millie has a hard time finding jobs and when she lands one she does WHATEVER she can to help her employers. until this time it’s tooo far for this specific employer. she’s high key nosey so she’s definitely putting her nose where it doesn’t belong which always gets her into these crazy situations.

douglas garrick, a rich CEO, who has very specific wants and needs but one rule in particular, do not bug my wife if the door is closed. douglas is very much so forgettable until he wasn’t, especially for millie. i disliked him for the glimpses of “bad” things he does to his wife but i totally ended up feeling bad for him.

wendy garrick, poor wendy garrick literally. she got what she had coming to her and i stopped feeling bad for her. i despised her for what she did and karma always plays its role in things..
she seemed like the ideal wife and employer but boy was i wrong. russell was also very forgetful but maybe because of the role he took in the book? idk but just like wendy i despised him.

i loved seeing enzo come back into this because as much as he was a key character in the first book i feel like he really shined here. an amazing body guard and just an amazing person overall. and his broccoli comment just shows his humor and i love it. enzo stan.

literally everything that happened had my jaw on the floor. i couldn’t stop readying this book. freida is a great writer and i love her stories but some things are so repetitive. she repeats a lot of things over and over and like okay we get that he’s a hot italian or that garrick is a CEO, or millie’s record, like we get it, move along now. but other than that it was a good read. definitely recommend if you want a suspenseful twisty turny jaw dropping book.
