king of wrath (kings of sin book 1) by ana huang

published: october 20, 2022
source: purchased
rating:★★★★★

from goodreads:
She’s the wife he never wanted…and the weakness he never saw coming.
Ruthless. Meticulous. Arrogant.
Dante Russo thrives on control, both personally and professionally.
The billionaire CEO never planned to marry—
until the threat of blackmail forces him into an engagement with a woman he barely knows.
Vivian Lau, jewelry heiress and daughter of his newest enemy.
It doesn’t matter how beautiful or charming she is. He'll do everything in his power to destroy the evidence and their betrothal.
There’s only one problem: now that he has her...he can't bring himself to let her go.
***
Elegant. Ambitious. Well-mannered.
Vivian Lau is the perfect daughter and her family’s ticket into the highest echelons of high society.
Marrying a blue-blooded Russo means opening doors that would otherwise remain closed to her new-money family.
While the rude, elusive Dante isn't her idea of a dream partner, she agrees to their arranged marriage out of duty.
Craving his touch was never part of the plan.
Neither was the worst thing she could possibly do: fall in love with her future husband.
King of Wrath is a steamy billionaire/arranged marriage romance. It contains explicit sexual content, profanity, and mild violence. Recommended for mature readers only.

my review:
the only thing i hate about this book right now is that the other two aren’t out yet. ana huang reeling me into another amazing series.  i really was interested in reading these because of the little glimpses we got of dante inside the twisted series but i don’t think that prepared me for what the hell i just read, or even what we have coming in the next books.

dante russo, the successful CEO, the thick skinned get whatever i want standoffish man. the one who took care of everyone else. the one who would never get married. i feel like we knew so little about dante because he was super secretive in the twisted series and that just blew up even more when it came to his own book. we never knew what he was planning or what he had up his sleeve, and i just wanted to know it all. dante being the caretaker of those around him made the reason he even agreed to the arranged marriage made so much sense. i don’t like how he used her but it all worked out in the end.

vivian lau, the heiress of lau jewels, a successful woman. the outcast of the family. the one who just wanted to do what she wanted instead of what her family wanted thrown into an arranged marriage. vivian just wanted to live life and see where it took her. being in the family that she was she had a deadline that she wasn’t too keen of. she agreed to the arranged marriage to do what all kids want to do, please their parents, and hated dante as much as he hated her.

dante and vivian together tho? CHEFS KISS. the whole story of them getting together and how much he even despises the idea of being with someone, having someone in his space, and being married makes it all that much better. always love when the guy falls first, and HARDER than they either expected or even wanted to in the first place.

there was a lot of family drama & issues in this book but it shows how much of an influence a family can or cannot have. it also shows how much they can or cannot be a part of their child’s life. it also shows the influence that those types of relationships can have on the outlook of their future relationships and personality traits.

king of wrath was a great book all in all. it makes me so much more excited to read the rest of the series. ana huang tops herself every time she comes out with a new book.
