november 9 by colleen hoover

published: november 10, 2015
source: purchased
rating:★★★★✩

from goodreads:
Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.
Can Ben’s relationship with Fallon—and simultaneously his novel—be considered a love story if it ends in heartbreak?

my review:

okay coho! slowly becoming one of my favorite authors. i go into all of these books blind, i don’t want to know what they’re about i just want to embark on the journey and what a journey this one was.

books with different POV’s are usually written horribly and you get lost but colleen does an amazing job of keeping it all organized. i love how it switches from fallon’s POV to ben’s but it picks up right where the other leaves off. most books make it feel like you’re reading 2 different stores but this, this feels like you’re reading the same story and everything is beautifully cohesive.

most of my love of this book came from me relating to fallon despising her father. so relatable and it sucked me right in. having a “mysterious” boy admiring her making her feel ways she’s never felt and it just goes from there. so many things happened and so many things that you wouldn’t expect. JAW-DROPPING REALIZATIONS!! ahh so much happened, so many questions still left.

i really liked this book, 3.5-4/5 starts because i feel like there was so much more that could’ve been added, so much more i would’ve liked to know. i wish we got more about ben and his family life and more about the different relationships he had with everyone, who i feel played a big role in the story. maybe we’ll get a book that’s more focused on ben and less on fallon, more about his november 9th.
