Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up
— she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.
Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.
As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan — her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened

my review:
ms. colleen hoover blows me away yet again. please check the trigger warnings before embarking on this journey. i went into this book not knowing what it was about and i was super surprised (although i shouldn’t
be with any colleen hoover book but here i was). as always an emotional rollercoaster that had you somewhat relieved at the end. the decision made the whole ride worth while.

i wish this book didn’t end, wishing i could keep reading, see how the baby grows up, what happens with atlas?? and lily?? and RYLE?? the story develops beautifully, you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into just as much as lily doesn’t. everything unfolds for you, as the reader, and her, as the heroine, all at once. you both embark on this journey that many experience in everyday life. this story shows how hard it is to make the right decisions knowing with every ounce in you you want to make the opposite decision. this definitely shows you the mind vs heart aspect of a lot of decisions you have to make in life.

the title of this book will make sense to you in the end. throughout the whole journey i was confused as to what it meant but there it was slapping you across the face.  this is one that will stay with you even after you’re done reading. go into this one blind, don’t read spoilers, don’t get opinions just read it, i promise it won’t disappoint.
