another 2 point of view story that i totally liked!! hahah i guess i do like the two point of view stories because that’s all i seem to read now!! nonetheless, the fine print was great!! this is my first lauren asher book and i’m excited to finish this series!!
i liked rowan from the beginning. something about the dominant male is just mmmm. typical dominant male that would stop at nothing until he got what he wanted. he suffered a lot of trauma so i can see where a lot of his traits come from but i feel like he knew he had the issues and wanted to be better. zahra wasn’t my favorite but she wasn’t hated. i feel like you could tell she was very young minded and wasn’t fully mature. i feel like rowan was too grown for her and she really didn’t know what to do with it or him. after being heart broken from her ex she didn’t really proceed with caution she kind of let her guard down and quick. ani was probably my favorite character, she was the perfect person to mellow out the sunshine rays from zahra and the dark skies from rowan. her relationship with rowan made my heart melt, and he basically melted for her and i loved that. the relationship between her and JP was so sweet because i feel like those with disabilities get shown in the light of not being able to carry out normal lives and do things others do but ani & JP prove everyone wrong!!
rowan did a lot of things that wouldn’t have made you think he felt the way he did about zahra but i think he would literally go to the edge of the earth for her. he made a lot of mistakes on the way, and zahra forgave him WAYYYY TOOO EASILY, but i guess it worked out for them in the end.
some of the parts of the story were kind of obnoxious, especially things zahra would say when their banter occurred but i think that goes back to her immaturity and young age showing through. i would love to know more about their story and what went on especially after reading the epilogue!! i really liked the representation in this book. the mental health, those with disabilities, and ethnic representation. that diversity was probably one of my favorite things about this book besides it being based around basically a mini disneyland!! i’ll definitely be reading more asher books!
